Love Live shoot in Greenwich Park

Image
Its become almost a tradition to do a cosplay shoot in Greenwich Park with the cherry blossoms! They bloom for quite a short time period so it has become quite the challenge to find the perfect point to go up there and to co-ordinate this with photographers and other members of the cosplay group.  I have had this wig for a while and have always found it too thick, and therefore difficult to maintain and uncomfortable to wear, so I took the time to teach myself how to thin out a wig before the shoot and I was happy with the result!   This was also my first time applying full costume makeup since 2019 which I was quite nervous about, and having to travel up to London in it and maintain it always proves a challenge! Despite this, I was happy with how it turned out, though I still need to master the art of eyebrows and contour.  Find some pictures below taken by @newtfae on instagram!

Mans Best Friend : A Mockumentary - The Plan

NOTE: This is a draft I had from April 2021, which I'm happy to finally publish! I included some paperwork from the project proposal which I had to submit as part of this unit.              For my dissertation earlier on this year, i decided to write and produce a short film - pretty high stakes as this was the first film of any kind that i made. Originally, i considered a few ideas, such as making a lightsaber or making a dog puppet, before i settled on the film idea. Going with resource filmmaking (and with a small budget) the plan was to produce a mockumentary about a drama school, heavily inspired by both my own and other students experiences. However, with COVID restrictions meaning i had to complete the project at home, i looked around with what I had - and that happened to be a pretty mean dog.  A mockumentary about Roxy, our 16 year old chihuahua cross yorkshire terrier, was something that I thought of the previous summer. I recorded a few clips of my family, unscripted, d

Nott the Brave Cosplay

Image
For over half my life now, I have been a cosplayer. Embarrassing? Yes. Will I stop? No time soon. Recently I put together a cosplay of Nott the Brave, from the webseries 'Critial Role.' I brought the jumpsuit second hand from Ebay and made the overcoat and scarf. This was my first time applying body paint which was a fun experience!  These pictures were taken by Harley Thompson on my Nikon D3500.

Blouseys 7th Birthday

Image
Did I order custom dog friendly cupcakes for my dogs 7th birthday? If I replied 'no' I would be lying.  Focusing on the mentality of celebrating the small things, I of course had to celebrate Blouseys birthday, and in all good fashion I turned it into a little photo shoot. Here are the results!

The Forever Waltz - Catalyst 2021

Image
As I was vision directing on the Catalyst Festival at uni, I brought my camera to grab some pictures of one of the shows! Though these are the RAW files, I hope to get better at photo editing soon! The Forever Waltz is written by Glyn Maxwell, produced by Jonathan Pohl and directed by Issy Paul. Taken on a Nikon d3500.

Celebrating Pride 2021

Celebrating Pride Pride originated as a protest and is still a protest. Just had to start with that. Recently, my sexuality has been at the forefront of a lot of things. Going for new jobs , joining sports clubs and even volunteering require me to state my gender and sexuality, and the majority of the time, it’s just tick boxes – and ticking ‘other’ can be, kind of weird. ‘Other’ what, exactly? ‘Other’ because I’m not straight, or ‘Other’ being it doesn’t matter? So I’ve been thinking about that a lot. This is a post I have been working on since June. But yaknow, life. Either way, I did spend a lot of time on this and am excited to finally get it out in the world! With most Pride celebrations cancelled this year, I wanted to think about other ways to celebrate and commemorate pride this year! But of course, these actions aren’t limited to just pride month and should Here is some suggestions - 1)       Ensure you add your pronouns to your Instagram bio, twitter, and buy a

Prop making - A giant candy floss

Image
For Mountviews production of 'The Sandman : A Christmas Fairytale' in 2018, I had the opportunity to make a giant candy floss to be used as a prop in the show.  After consulting with the rest of the team and the props department, we attempted to dye pillow stuffing, which was used as the cotton candy, with fabric dye but this did not take well, so we decided to spray paint it when the base of the structure was complete.  I began with a large cardboard cone and added some curved pieces to to act as a structure to support the pillow stuffing.  I also used some chicken wire to cover the circular structure to give it added support, and this material also ensured that it stayed light.  After this, I applied the stuffing in long, stretched out lengths to mimic the wrapping of cotton candy.  Once this was done, I began to spray paint! One of the scenic artists also taught me how to dismantle, clean and reassemble a spray gun which was good to learn!  The pink paint I used en
